Ray asked:

My friend was thinking of starting a bank account but he has debt around 15,000 or so, some by hospital bills and parking tickets, and by bank loans.

Now i was curious if they will deny him or not and if he does get a bank account will they take money out of it.

Thanks in advance =)

I’m in desperate need of help. My issue is that it doesn’t seem like my credit card debt is going anywhere. I can’t afford to pay much more than I am each month and it’s always more than the minimum. I have applied for the consolidation loans and they all tell me that they can’t approve it because I have too much debt. And that if I get my debt down then they could give me the loan. This sounds ridiculous to me because if I could get my debt down I wouldn’t need the loan. The credit cards that I apply for to do a balance transfer never give me a high enough limit to transfer all of the debt. It’s about 12,000 between 3 credit cards. Does anyone understand what I’m going through and can anyone give me real advice on how to fix the problem? Note: I do expect those worthless people to give me advice like stop spending or something just as useless. I kindly ask you not to waste my time or yours. Thank you to everyone else who really can give some advice that actually help my situtation.:)
Also I don’t use the cards anymore. If I do, I put the money back with the next payment.

YAH IS GOD asked:

to pay them all off. I succeeded in getting them all paid off except for 1, which I’m still paying on. Now I want to get a new credit card for purposes of improving my credit (paying on time, etc.) Now that I’ve gone through credit counseling and a debt management program to reduce my debt, what is the best way to convince the major credit card companies to trust you again with a new card?

Nick V asked:

My grandma is 79, can’t work due to congestive heart failure, has roughly $800/month in retirement income. She owns her house with no mortgage or refinancing. She managed to get herself into over $10k in cc debt, most of it due to higher interest fees than minimum payments. Each month adds around $200 in interest on each card, which she can’t afford to pay. She has tried to get a home equity loan to pay things off a few times, but: Her credit score is too low, and/or she doesn’t have enough income. What is she to do being pushed further into debt. We live in Michigan, if bankruptcy is an option that would help, I’m pretty sure laws are different for each state. Is there anything she can do? Even if she wanted to sell her house, the real estate market here is so bad, I heard a few months ago over 80% of the city is for sale.
Her house is worth approximately $27k SEV or $59400 Market Value, if this would help in determining bankruptcy status.
