get out of debt
mikeyc4023 asked:

I just received my credit report and it only gives me the information for the original creditor not the company who purchased the debt. I contacted the original creditor and they told me that they couldn’t find my info. The debt is valid from about 2005 with capital one and I am trying to get in contact with whoever I need to pay to settle.

The collection agency then it off so you wont have to pay anything back if you wont have to pay anything back if you havent received letters from the original date.

You could always contact who the debt originally belonged to and ask if they will give you the contact info for whoever they sold your debt to.

You really have two options. First, keep contacting Capital One until you reach someone who is willing to assist you. You may have to be very persistent. If that doesn’t work, you’ll have to wait until you’re contacted by the agency who purchased your account. Good luck.

They could have just written it off to be honest, if you had any charges that you have claimed back this will go on your credit report as a financial loss to the bank.
