Why should people be able to weasel out of debt? Even a fraction off of their amount sends the wrong message?

doesn’t it? People who got into debt made bad decisions. Why should they be able to have ANY part of it shaved off? Now people will mention emergencies such as large hospital bills, funeral expenses, etc. Those are the only exceptions because you can’t plan for when they will occur. Other than that, I repeat, why should people be able to weasel out of debt?

People who manage to get someone to loan them money and then decide not to pay that loan back are deadbeats.
However, the courts let them just wipe off the debt as if they didn’t owe anything, and the rest of us who DO pay our debts are supposed to be okay with that.
I’m with you on this one. Ticks me off.
