get out of debt
Stupid asked:

I’ve heard that Obama passed something that helps people with more than 10k in credit card debt get out of debt a bit. I received a postcard in the mail titled “Balance Settlement Notification”. Is this fake? Is the Obama thing real? Where can I find info on this? I am certainly more than 10k in credit card debt. Classic case of letting the credit cards get away from me and then before I knew it, I was tons in debt and forced to use credit cards to pay bill which sunk me deeper. Please Help!!!

browneyes7 asked:

It has been my dream to go to this college it is in another state. I stayed in my hometown went for my nursing. Found its not my thing I Like it. I love my music. I got accepted to the college of my dreams I didn’t go because I did not have a vehicle I did not know anyone there it is 5 hours away from home. I tried to go. In order for me to go I would have to get out several thousand dollars out in loan just to cover the cost. I considered trying to go giving it a shot for the summer then again I am enrolled in beauty college in my hometown I start in a week. I work out my tuition on the floor. If I leave go to my dream college and major in music I”m 22 this is sorta my last chance in a way. Every time I tried to go each time I got accepted something happened and my mother has been ill all my friends keep telling me to go. I just **** the thought of go in major debt. I don’t want to be 90 years old regretting I didn’t try I have tried. What is your opinion?

What should Michigan do to get out of debt?

ruthiecrue2 asked:

The governor is thinking about doing many things to get more money for the state of Michigan. Some ideas are raise the gasoline tax by 9 cents over the next 3 yrs, raise registration fees, add another tax on ciggerettes, or have a 2 cent tax on services such as haircuts. Michigan is hurting and so are our schools. What would you vote for to raise more money?
Our local school district wants to lay off 30+ teachers and close down 2 schools cause they don’t have the money!

dee asked:

I currently am using chase bank. I have a credit card from them with a very low interest rate that I have not used. I owe 2000 on an amex card, 500 on another chase credit card, and i owe 3000 on a couch that was financed through citibank. My main issue is the couch. I ended up moving back to my home state and my roommate said that he would take care of it no problem. (STUPID ME). the couch was in my name and now citibank is just now starting to call me saying it was never paid for. Is it possible to transfer all of this debt over to that one card? If so, what steps do i need to take. I need to get out of all this debt fast because citibank is threatening to take me to court if not paid soon.

whats the simplest and shortest legal way to get out of debt?

CJ asked:

Started working last year december earning a net basic income of R10400, for investment purposes I bought a newly developed upmarket apartment and ended paying morgage of R4300pm(I stay in it) and then after that I bought my first car and I am paying R3500pm and since I work 2km away from work, the little that I had left was is enough for fuel and other necessary expenses. I then took up a loan of R42000 (which I pay R940pm for 7yrs) and I bought a R43000 central city apartment with it and used up the R12500 overdraft facility to renovate the flat which now brings me an extra net income of R3000 per month additional to my salary. My salary has since gone up so my net is now R13000.

I know it wasn’t a good idea to take up a loan and exhaust my overdraft but I wanted to have as many long term investments as possible but now the problem is that I don’t like my progress in paying off the loan. Please assist with means of me paying off the loan faster ans staying debt free.
well, the flat that I bought was a bank repo…so it was quite a bargain (has 4 bedrooms, a bathroom, kischen and 2 reception areas) and after just six months I can sell it for at least R120k which will be more than enough for me to get initial invetsment and profit…but I don’t think its wise to sell at least now.

Building Credit AFTER getting OUT of Debt?

get out of debt
Jessie4reel asked:

Are there any ways to build my credit score up after getting out of debt? I do NOT have credit cards or anything like that. I’ve NEVER filed bankruptcy, either. But I DID have credit cards and maxed them out (and beyond) to cover medical bills. Now, I’m paying them off and ALMOST totally debt free, but what can I do to get my score UP?

How Can I Get Out of Debt?

get out of debt
Loves Weezy asked:

I went into debt when my beloved dog became very ill. She was like a child to me and trying to save her, my boyfriend and I incurrect $5000 in vet bills and lost wages. Now, we are both full-time students on limited income (loans rationed out by our parents). How can we get out of debt? Is there a way to work from home and make extra money to get out of debt in less than a year? Nice answers, please. I’m not a moron, I was trying to save my pet!
We both can’t hold down normal jobs b/c of erratic school schedules and studying.

Would it be better for my credit if I pay a percentage of a debt, or the whole thing?

Jessica asked:

I got an overdraft debt with my bank, and it turned out to be $905 total in overdraft and the charges. It was sent to collections and they are offering a “deal” that would allow me to pay 70%. Would it better for my credit if I paid the full amount, or does it matter since it has reached this point and pay the 70%?
